Summary

- Nova and her sister are leaving along with other vampires at a party, thrown by a pureblood who has recentlly awoken from a long slumber.
- A girl who happens to know Nova intimately approaches and puts a collar on Ren, rigged to explode or cause some other type of damage.
- 'Onee-sama' sends the girl flying and attempts to aid Nova
- 'Onee-sama' manages to remove the collar but not without severe injuries to both girls.
- Nova has been suppressing her feelings of wanting to drink her sister's blood.
- Nova was afraid of being hated by her sister.
- 'Onee-sama' assures her that it is alright to drink her blood.
- Nova gives in to the urge and topples her sister to the ground to feed.

Commentary
- 'Onee-sama' is a very formal way of addressing an older sister.
- The honorific '-sama' also implies that her sister's status within vampire society is higher than her own.
- There's been a lot of animosity thrown around between vampires and humans and Ren's existence is a problem to both sides of the issue.

Effects
- This just alerts Nova to the fact that she has a sibling
- This also outs Ren to her team that she is a vampire, something she's tried to keep under wraps. A little hard to do when she brings blood from the rations fridge to her room

Summary

- Nova is much younger in this memory (obviously) and is playing house with her sister. She also expresses her desire to be someone who protects others, in this case she specifically mentions Hunters.
- Rei makes an appearance, whom Nova addresses as 'Otou-sama'. He looks about the same as he normally does in Imeeji, of course.
- Nova becomes excited and asks him to play house with her and 'Onee-sama'.
- Rei tells her that he's about to go to gun practice. Leading to Nova asking if she can come watch, but her sister tells her it is too dangerous.
- Rei gives permission for her to watch, as long as she stands behind the bullet-proof glass with her sister.
- While they watch, Nova comments on the fact that Rei is cool and how she wants to protect people, just as he does. She also mentions wanting to first protect her sister.
- Ai hugs her and asks if someday Nova will listen to her secrets, which she agrees to do.

Commentary
- Surprise Rei really is a dad!
- This is a more carefree memory than the fist one, because I thought Nova could use a break *laughs*
- There isn't a whole lot of note in this except for a specific personality trait of Nova's: her desire to protect people, just like Rei.

Effects
- This alerts Nova to the fact that she is blood related to Rei
- She will be asking anyone who sees the memory that might know Rei (and Kaguya by extension) not to tell him or Kaguya about it.

Summary
- Ren is a few years younger in this memory, sitting in bed while her parents look in on her.
- Her mother (whose face is obscured and voice muffled throughout the memory) is kneeling beside the bed while her father is in the doorway.
- Ren is experiencing what can be aptly called "vampire puberty" and experiencing a thirst for blood. She becomes adamant that her sister does not enter her room.
- Instead of staying at home, she begs her parents to let her go with her father to the shooting range to shoot a gun. Her father takes her along the path behind their home, away from others. Ren bites him to temporarily alleviate her thirst.
- Later, Ren takes to avoiding her sister so as to not think about thirsting for her blood. She has been having dreams of draining her sister's blood.

Commentary
- Surprise! Zero is Ren's dad?!
- The honorific '-sama' also implies that her sister's status within vampire society is higher than her own.
- There is some implied incest themes so if that's not your thing, please feel free to avoid.

Effects
- Nova has now received her real name!
- And everyone knows she has particularly strong feelings for her sister...? (How embarrassing)

Summary

- The Memory starts with Ai trying to tie up their father, whose name is not mentioned. Banter ensues.
- When Ai leaves the room Ren and their father have a conversation about a photo album. The headmaster is referencing the same headmaster that may have been mentioned in memories from Kaguya or Zero.
- The trio go into town together and talk about what traits Ai shares with their mother (Kaguya)
- Kaname tricks Ai and Ren into separating and tries to give them the slip.
- Ai and Ren track him and watch from the rooftops.
- Ai makes a joke about having watched over Ren in the past. Ren tells her that she doesn't like joking about that memory.

Summary

-The Memory starts with Kaname overlooking a cliff.
-An elderly vampire comes upon Kaname and Ren intervenes none too gently.
-Ai scolds her and apologizes for Ren's behavior and then promptly erases the woman's memories and sends her on her way.
-In a comical turn of events Ai scolds Kaname as well. He apologizes to her and to Ren, who has injured her cheek.
-Ren explains that she's fine and that the injury has already healed. The exchange ends with Ai asking Kaname to come into town with them the next day.

Commentary

-Ren that is not how you treat grannies!
-Look, her hair is short again!
-Also, have a not bad memory of Kaname, Imeeji. See? He's not so bad!

Effects

-Ren is still unhappy with Kaname after seeing him in Yuuki and Zero's memories and her memory doesn't really change that right now. :c

The Work of a Hunter

Summary

- The memory starts off with Ren and Zero setting off on a trip!
- General silliness that comes from living a sheltered life ensues. Zero teaches Ren how to put together a tent, fish, and also gives her a little wisdom/assurance.
- Ren expressing the worry that something is wrong with her for liking her sister.
- The two find a hideout where a vampire mother and child are together. They're surrounded by the corpses of the ones who apparently killed the husband/father of the pair of vampires.
- Zero shoots them while Ren hides behind a wall out of fear.
- Zero asks Ren if she's alright and she tries to say that she is but quickly denies it.

Commentary

- FATHER DAUGHTER ROAD TRIP!!
- :D (Why have we not gotten a chapter with Yuuki and Ren, Hino?)

• This takes place immediately after one of Ren's previous memories.
  
• Kaname makes note of vampires' regenerative powers.
  
• He asks if he "pulls" that woman (Yuuki) out from inside of him whether or not she will regenerate too.
  
• Ai asks if he wants to test it and Ren questions what she's trying to say.
  
• Kaname says that he won't try to do it after all, noting that Yuuki would be angry at him for it.
  
• Ai tells him that she doesn't think that the idea is stupid.

Commentary

• We learn that by giving her life to turn Kaname human, Yuuki now "lives" inside of him. This is reference to her soul, not her physical body living inside of him.

Hide and Seek

• We get like no scenes of Yuuki and Ren from when she was younger so I am making one up darn it!
  
• The summary section is going to be written up a bit differently than I normally do.
  

Summary
A younger Ren is running through the massive Kuran mansion, attempting to play Hide and Seek with her sister. Gleefully, she opens door after door, searching for the perfect hiding place. That is when she sees it - Mother's study. Surely she would never find her in here! Her mother is already there, of course, working on some paperwork, reading and making notes of it.

"Ren? Did you need something?" she questions, smiling warmly like she always did. Mother and Father were always like that - warm and loving and happy. It made Ren happy too. Even when they had to work, she wasn't lonely because she had Ai with her too. When they could spend the time with her, she loved being able to play games or read books with them. It was a warm and happy place.

"Hiding! Okaa-shama, where is a good place to hide? I want to win Hide and Seek against Onee-shama." Ren speaks well enough, but some words are still difficult to say properly at such a young age - such as honorifics. Yuuki looks surprised, but then smiles and giggles a little. Rising from her seat, she moves to scoop a tiny Ren up in her arms, pressing her face to the top of her head while hugging her.

"Come here, I have a good place." Yuuki sets her down next to a window, pulling back the curtains a bit. "In here. If she comes, I won't tell her, okay?" She smiles playfully, petting Ren's hair. The curtain is long enough that it reaches the floor. It's perfect for hiding. When Ren giggles, in her delight, Yuuki presses a finger to her lips before kissing her forehead.

It isn't long before Ai comes to look for her, smiling as she asks Yuuki where she is. Ren can see the two of them when she tries to sneak a peak from behind the curtain. Yuuki pretends not to know, telling her to keep looking. She is seated at her desk again. When Ai leaves and is far enough away, Yuuki laughs.

"You can come out." Ren immediately rushes forward, and trying to climb into her lap.She holds onto her mother, pressing her face into her long hair to smell it. It has a familiar, calming smell to it.

"Okaa-shama, thank you for playing with me." She snuggles closer, content. Yuuki just smiles and kisses her head, running her fingers through her long silver hair.

"Of course."

Commentary

• *wheeze* head canon is totally legit, okay.
  
• Hino how dare you rob me of cute moments with younger Ren and Yuuki?

• - It seems that there is a meeting going on.

• - It seems a group that were meant to protect humans is behind the trouble


• - In attempting to poison the resevoir, they wanted to harm vampires.


• - Something also seems to be happening to humans, being rounded up by the enemy faction


• - Ren questions whether there is something that can be done.

Commentary

• - I beliiiieve this group was referenced in one of Kaguya's memories?

• - This is the first time we see Ai ever become angry with Ren!

• Ren will have some knowledge that this could be the faction who potentially was behind the attack that nearly killed her and Ai at the soiree. It isn't too clear to her as of yet.


• That hasn't stopped her from hoping for a peaceful resolution!

• - Ai has been struggling with her thirst for years, not wanting to hurt Ren, but, when confronted about it, she loses her composure.


• - Ai throws her inside a large cage, having prepared this cage for Zero and Yuuki, should they be captured.


• - Ai immediately feels conflicted about choosing to lock her sister up and decides to open the door to let her out again.


• - Ren "captures" her sister and insists that Ai drink her blood before she leaves for her training.

Commentary

• - Ren's last memory gives no details as to why Zero and Yuuki need to be caged up, so this definitely opens up some questions!

Effects

• Ren has more questions than answers, but also a lot of embarrassment will inevitably ensue. She and Ai got super gay this chapter lol

Effects

• No ill effects, only embarrassment because Ren tried to hit an injured kid lol
